I am currently in the middle of the major prophets, Jeremiah in particular. Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ekezial are tough books to read in the Old Testament. Let me tell you why.
Reading through Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel can be challenging. Their callings were incredibly difficult—each was asked by God to deliver hard truths to people who didn’t want to listen. It’s both heartbreaking and inspiring to see their unwavering obedience, even when it brought rejection, isolation, or suffering. The Israelites’ responses can be painful to read because they mirror how often we resist hearing what we don’t want to hear. Yet through it all, these prophets remind us of God’s faithfulness and His patience with His people, calling them—and us—back to Him again and again.
Even though Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel can feel heavy at times, they remind us that God’s plans are never to harm us but to give us hope and a future. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” These books encourage us to trust God’s heart, even when His words challenge or convict us, knowing His purpose is always rooted in love and restoration.
That 2 piece set is so cute!
