Anyone else find truth to be almost impossible to find? I feel like we are inundated with “clips” or with “one sided” coverage of events. I hear one person’s opinion on a current event and agree with them, but then I hear another person’s opinion of the same event and question my original take on it. I never feel like I know the whole story.
No one ever shares the whole story. And it is most likely because they, themselves, don’t have the full story. OR they know the whole story, but the whole story doesn’t fit their agenda in what they want to stand for, so they omit bit and pieces to strengthen their case.
As a consumer of media, it is paralyzing. I start to live in fear of not understanding. You feel like you have to be so careful in what you “like” or “share” because you may be liking or sharing something that isn’t based on facts and truths.
You also have loved ones or friends sharing things that you are appalled by. Sometimes, I see something someone commented or shared and wish I never saw it. I didn’t want to know that side of them. Am I alone in this? I can’t be, right?
So, is there anything out there that is 100% true? Can I believe anything?
I think John 14:6 answers this…
Jesus is THE TRUTH.
Scripture is, therefore, TRUTH.
How many time have you heard an influencer you seem to trust say something and take it as truth. You don’t look into it deeper, you trust they researched it. I mean, they sounded really convincing, right? You stepped away thinking that was truth. I know I have done this, many times.
I’m going to be pretty blunt here…. If you consume social media or television or news sites- you are going to be misled. You are going to fall for things that are not true. You are going to be duped.
That sounds bad, I know.
There is good news, everyone in the USA has access to the Holy Bible, filled with God-breathed TRUTH. The bible is the one thing you can consume and get truth.
For those of you reading this rolling your eyes and about to exit out of my blog- WAIT! Please. Don’t take what someone says for truth- even ME! I am just a sinner. I am captain of the struggle bus- you read that yesterday. But I am begging you- don’t go your whole life without reading the bible. Don’t let other people tell you what to believe. I am not telling you to believe in Jesus. I am just urging you to read the bible and see what its all about. See if it is what I say it is.
Read it with an open mind, ask questions, put it to the ultimate test. Please stop believing what a stranger on the internet is saying (hi! That would be me). See for yourself.
And now- if you are a believer already. Read your bible. Satan is working in your life to distract you, give you excuses to not read your bible. Satan knows the word is TRUTH, more than we do. Make reading the bible a must for you. I use The Bible Recap to read mine, but there are so many plans, many are free digitally, that you can use to read and help guide you.
