Favorite Blog Post
My favorite blog post this week is my new blog series called Recorded in Real Life.
I’ve been looking for ways to make blogging more accessible in my busy season of life. I’ve truly loved blogging over the past year and a half, but coming up with brand-new ideas was starting to feel harder and harder. I wanted something more predictable for me creatively—something that felt freeing, not forced.
So this year, I decided to take the blog in a slightly different direction. Recorded in Real Life is almost like a podcast you read. I voice-text my day as it’s happening, walk through real life in real time, and then use AI to help refine my words into a blog post. They’re still my words—just polished a bit—which saves me time and gives me more freedom to share our life honestly.
I hope you enjoyed the first post, and God willing, I’ll be bringing you more of these. I’d truly love to hear what you think in the comments.
Favorite Season
Another favorite from this week is that Bennett officially started school basketball.
He’s had his first week of practices and has been loving his teammates, coaches, and the routine. He’s doing such a great job balancing school and basketball, and we are so excited for the next two months. It’s going to be a wild, busy season filled with gyms, practices, and games—but we’re going to soak it all in.
Our biggest prayers right now are for healthy kids, safe travels, and stamina for mom and dad… because most nights, you’ll find the Millers in a gym.
Favorite Thing at Home
A huge favorite this week has been Martin cooking more.
Y’all—he is a legit chef in the kitchen. Cooking comes so naturally to him, and it has been such a gift not having to think through every single meal. He’s taken a huge portion of the cooking off my shoulders, and we are all very grateful—especially because the food is SO good.
From Chipotle-style burrito bowls to grilled meats and steamed veggies, it’s been amazing. I’m really hoping this trend continues into the new year.
Favorite Bible Verse
My favorite Bible verse this week was Romans 12:2.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
This verse has been such a reminder that the world constantly tells us what matters—what success looks like, what our bodies should look like, and who we should be. We’re always absorbing messages through social media, news, and comparison.
But Paul reminds us that transformation doesn’t come from trying harder or being more like someone else. It’s an inward change—God reshaping our desires, reactions, and perspectives so they align with His will. Renewal happens when we allow God’s truth to speak louder than the noise—through Scripture, prayer, and repetition.
God’s will isn’t something to fear. His plans are good, pleasing, and perfect. Even when waiting is hard or the future feels uncertain, His will is always worth trusting.
Favorite Nails
I absolutely love my new nails!
Favorite Weather Moment
My last favorite thing this week is this weather.
Sunny skies and warmer temperatures in January have been so good for my soul. I know cold, snowy days are ahead, but I just wanted to pause and thank God for this gift of sunshine. I hope you’ve been able to enjoy it too.
That’s it for this week’s Friday Favorites here on Kari Miller Blog. I hope you have the most wonderful, blessed weekend, and I’ll see you back here next week—you won’t want to miss it.
