Thankful Thursday: Faith, Family, and the Simple Joys I’m Grateful For Today

Thankful Thursday: What I’m Praising God For Today

Hey friends!
It’s Thankful Thursday—a day to pause, reflect, and give God glory for the many blessings that often go unnoticed in the middle of our busy lives. Whether it’s the big stuff or the seemingly small stuff, I’ve found that gratitude truly shifts my heart and reminds me that God is always good.

So today, I’m slowing down just enough to name a few things I’m especially thankful for right now. I hope this inspires you to pause and count your own blessings today too. 💛

🎵 Forrest Frank’s Music

Lately, I’ve had Forrest Frank on repeat. His music fills our home, my car, and my workouts with lyrics that point me back to Jesus. There’s something powerful about worship that’s honest, joyful, and full of truth—and Forrest does that so well.

Bible Verse:
“Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.” – Psalm 147:7 (NIV)

Music has a way of turning my thoughts toward heaven, and for that, I’m so thankful.

💪 My Hard-Working Husband

I can’t talk about gratitude without mentioning my husband. He is steady, humble, and works so hard to provide and protect our family. His faithfulness in the little things is such a reflection of God’s love. From long work hours to the way he jumps in with the kids when he gets home—I see it all and I’m so grateful.

Bible Verse:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” – Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

His example reminds me to give my all too—whether it’s at home, with the kids, or through this blog.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Sweet Family Time

We recently spent some precious time with the grandparents, nieces, and nephews—and it filled my heart right up. There’s just something about family that grounds you, reminds you of where you came from, and helps you focus on what really matters.

Bible Verse:
“Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.” – Proverbs 17:6 (NIV)

Watching our kids play with their cousins, sharing laughs, and simply being together made me realize how precious and sweet these moments are.

I never could’ve imagined how God would use this platform to connect me with women across the world who love Jesus, fitness, and family just like I do.

Bible Verse:
“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” – Psalm 96:3 (NIV)

I pray that every post points you to Jesus, reminds you you’re not alone, and encourages you to live your life boldly and faithfully.

💛 Wrapping It Up

Gratitude doesn’t require everything to be perfect. It just requires us to notice.
To take stock of what God is doing—even in the ordinary.

Today, I’m noticing the music that stirs my soul, the man who leads our home, the family who surrounds us, and this beautiful space where I get to pour out my heart and share His love.

What are you thankful for today? I’d love to hear about it in the comments or connect with you on Instagram, @karimillerblog

Keep your eyes on Jesus and your heart full of thanks.

I’m grateful for my health and realizing it’s important before it’s too late. Also for my family’s health. Working in pediatric nursing for years, one of my worst moments was being in with the oncologist when he told a 3 year old’s parents she had 2 weeks to live right at Christmas time. God has been so good to us.
