Friday Favorites: Kicking Off Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Cheer, and Family Fun

Is there a better day than the Friday before Thanksgiving break?

I am not convinced there is a better day as a teacher. I am so excited to have a week off with my family time to just take it slow. Take it easy.

I am going to be so hard-core in my Christmas spirit. It’s gonna blow my own mind. Plus, Thanksgiving will be at my house, and I’m so excited for my house to just smell so good all day long and be filled with all the people I love most. I am so giddy just thinking about it.  This is a great start to my Friday favorites this week.

Like every Friday, I am linking up with bloggers Erika and Andrea to share our favorites from the week.

Let’s get this thing started!

Favorite Amazon Purchase

This game, Magnetic Chess, has been so fun to have in the house. The kids can play the game with each other, or Martin and I can join for a game or two. It takes about three minutes to play a game, at most. It always leads to lots of giggles, laughs, and “let’s play one more time!” If you’d like a fun little game to set on your coffee table or kitchen table that people can play and enjoy while you’re cooking, this is a great option. Plus, the magnet pieces are super easy to clean up because they all stick together.

Favorite Picture

A couple of weeks ago, we got our Miller Family pictures done at a beautiful park here in town. The pictures came back late last week, and man, oh man, they are amazing. I will probably share these pictures at some point on the blog, but here is my favorite of many favorites of the bunch.

How beautiful are these kids? God has blessed us.

Favorite Bible Verse

I love this verse. God has given us the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is a gift. It is important that we understand the power and abilities of this gift that we now have within us. This verse is huge- it gives us a great description of what the Spirit does and doesn’t do for us. The Spirit does NOT make us timid and fearful. So, if you are feeling those feelings, that is not the Spirit within you. That is your sinful nature.

The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-discipline. We can get up and go do XYZ. We can love others, even when they don’t deserve it. We can show self-discipline with what we consume, food and media. Paul also tells Timothy that he needs to fan the flame of the Spirit within us. In order to harness POWER, LOVE, and SELF-DISCIPLINE we have to continually, daily, fan the flame.

Favorite Workout

I just finished Sydney Cummings Houdyshell’s BOLD workout program. I love the final workout. It was a  combination of strength, core, and cardio. I am now trying to decide what program of hers to do next!

Favorite Blog Post

The Honest Struggle post was a favorite of mine. If you didn’t get a chance to read it, check out the summary that ChatGPT gave me for the post.

Favorite Song

Forrest Frank and JVKE dropped a new Christmas song. It is catchy and filled with Jesus, the perfect combination for a great song! Give it a listen!

Favorite Girl

This girl had me put in foam rollers on Tuesday night. The curls were POPPIN’ Wednesday morning. She was floating and bouncing like her curls all morning long. Does anyone else remember the absolute rush of confidence when those foam rollers came out in the morning?

Another Friday Favorites in the books! I hope you all have a great Friday! I plan on blogging next week. God willing- I’ll see you back here at KMB!
