Friday Favorites: Faith, Family Moments, and Simple Joys from This Week

Ah, Friday — what a day! 😄 Waking up on Friday always gives me the happy feelings!

Here’s why it’s so great:

  1. The weekend is near — it’s the finish line after a week of work, school, or routine. Just knowing rest or fun is ahead lifts your mood.

  2. Lighter vibes — people are generally happier and more relaxed, making everything from work meetings to grocery runs feel easier.

  3. Freedom and fun — Friday night is often the time for family pizza, date nights, or catching up with friends.

  4. A sense of accomplishment — you’ve made it through another week, and there’s satisfaction in that.

  5. God’s design for rest — even biblically, there’s a rhythm of work and rest (six days of labor, then rest on the seventh). Friday reminds us that rest is coming — a small reflection of the Sabbath blessing.

Would you say you love Fridays more for the relaxing ahead part or the celebratory end-of-week part?

I think I am equal parts both. All of it is just fantastic. And some Friday Favs will just add on to the Friday fun!

Like every week, I am linking up with other bloggers like me to share our favorites from the past week. You can check out the other blogs here or here!!

Let’s commence.

Favorite Drink

I am LOVING the Liquid Death sparkling waters. They are so good. If Lacroix or Topo Chico are too much for you in the sparkling department, you should try Liquid Death. It is much milder on the hoppiness of the bubbles with all the flavor.

Be warned– the can does resemble a beer, so you may want to rethink drinking these WATERS when you are at work or driving.

Favorite Moment

Madley wrapped up her first ever soccer season. She had the best time and learned so much. She was awarded Most Improved player. She was so pumped. We are thankful for the two dads that coached the girls this year. They got so much better, always played hard, and fell in love with the sport. Can’t ask for much more than that!

Favorite Blog Post

I always have to shout out my CWLW posts. They really are my favorites to write, but they are also the most time consuming to write. So check this week’s CWLW if you haven’t already.

Another favorite of mine would be my blast from the past post about a recipe for a great day. I smiled ear to ear reading my words from a year ago.

Favorite Amazon Purchase

I am hooked on Molly’s Suds Laundry Detergent. I’ve now subscribed to this on Amazon. My clothes smell and feel amazing after washing them. What other Molly’s Suds products should I try next??

Favorite Facebook Memory

These three boys are still besties. These boys are still this cute too! Benny has some pictures of friends in pre-k that he is still best friends with in 7th grade. I have a feeling this might be the case for Baker and his buds too! I love that our town is small enough to make these friendships and watch them grow from sweet babies to graduating seniors. What a blessing!

Favorite Sports Moment

This guy is incredible. What an honor to be able to watch, in real time, the greatest baseball player to ever do it. He is so dang likable too. His composure under pressure is on another level- such a great role model for young athletes. I understand if you aren’t a Dodgers fan, but it’s really hard to not be an Ohtani fan. Read this article if you are unaware of the history Ohtani made last week.

Favorite Bible Verse(s)

Pastor Mark (Newspring Church) did his whole sermon last weekend over this prayer found in the middle of Chronicles. It was such an encouraging message about God’s blessings. God blesses those who obey him. The more you follow his commands and ways, the more God blesses you. God wants to bless us. He wants us to have faith in him and what he can do with our faith. Jabez asked the Lord to bless him- and God does!! After last week’s message, I am adding something to my prayers.

One– I am going to ask for God’s guidance, encouragement, and reminding to obey him. I want to be in God’s will for my life. I want to please him, I want to be more and more like Jesus. I want to be humble in how much I need him and his mercy and grace.

Two– I am going to ask God to bless certain and specific areas of my life. I want my cup to overflow with blessings in my marriage, my kid’s lives, my friendships, my health, my finances, my blog. I am going to take a page out of Jabez’s prayer. I think you should too!! God is so good and so big. One person’s blessings doesn’t take away a blessing he could give to someone else. There’s room for us all.

You can listen to his message here!

What a great week it was. I am just overwhelmed with gratitude for this life that I am living and leading. God is so good.
