Finding Blessings in Every Detail: Gratitude, Faith, and Guarding Your Heart in a Comparison-Driven World

God’s blessings are hard to articulate sometimes. I am left speechless when I try to express the gratitude I have for my Heavenly Father and his unbelievable grace and mercy.

Life is hard, don’t get me wrong. My life is far from perfect. But the more I lean into gratitude the brighter my blessings are.

God takes our gratitude and obedience and he multiplies. He’s known for making all things work together for good. How many times has something awful or inconvenient or annoying happened in your life, and you find that God was protecting you or holding out for something greater He had planned for you.

The older I get the more I feel God in every detail of my life. I feel his presence, talking to me, reminding me that He is in control and to be faithful to His will.

When I get hit with all the red lights on the way to something “important” and I’m already running late- that doesn’t bother me anymore. God is in control. He is either teaching me a lesson, protecting me from something, or giving me more time to sit still and check in with him.

I challenge you, ladies, to stop comparing yourselves to others. I’m not sure why, but I feel God telling me to share this today. I find there to be a very thin line between inspiration and envy. I find women that are “influencers” that inspire me to be in my bible more, workout more, or eat healthier. I get up and try to be better. But I, also, can watch their stories, and leave jealous and envious of what they have or have done. Be on guard. We need to check ourselves and our hearts. Who you surround yourself with is important, but knowing who you are and whose you are is foundational to your joy.

Do you need to clean up your social media? Unfollow or hide certain people that lead you to comparing? Stop mindlessly, doom-scrolling. Use social media with intention. Bring light, comment positive, uplifting thoughts, share your heart and blessings. Or better yet, do you need to limit or eliminate social media for periods of time? Ask God for wisdom in this area.

Back to Thankful Thursday- I have been listening to Taylor’s new album. I have yet to listen to the Explicit version of the songs, to be honest. When listening to her love songs, it hit me. Taylor Swift has all the success a person can have in the world and then some. However, I have what she has always been missing, “a best friend that I think is hot.” 😉

But, seriously, I am so thankful for the husband I have and the life we are making. God has blessed our marriage and family. I am just so dang thankful!

Thanks for stopping by KMB on this October Thursday. I hope you enjoyed me sharing my heart with yall. Come back tomorrow for another Friday Favorites!
