Well, friends⦠somehow, we blinked, and weāre already halfway through 2025. š Like, wasn’t it just New Yearās Eveand we were making all the plans to eat more vegetables, go to bed earlier, and keep up with the laundry? And now here we are ā summer heat in full swing, snack cabinets constantly raided by hungry kids, and maybe some of those goals have, well… fizzled a bit. (Just me?)
But before we spiral into guilt or reach for the sour candy stash, letās take a deep breath. This isnāt about what we didnāt do. Itās about pausing, reflecting, and refocusing.
Letās talk about what it looks like to reflect on the first half of the year ā as mothers, as wives, and as women walking in faith ā and how we can walk boldly into the rest of 2025.
1. Start with Gratitude
Letās begin by looking back with thankfulness. Even if the past six months were messy, youāre here. Youāve grown. Youāve shown up. That matters.
āGive thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.ā ā 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Start your midyear check-in with a short list:
What did God do in your life this year so far?
Where have you seen His faithfulness?
What moments made you laugh, cry (happy tears count!), or feel deeply connected?

2. Put the Phone Down and Be Present
Letās just call it what it is: weāre all a little too tethered to our screens. š The scroll can steal more than time ā it can steal connection, rest, even joy. One small challenge Iām taking into the second half of the year: more eye contact, less screen time. More family dinners where we actually talk. More quiet mornings without the phone glow first thing.
āTeach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.ā ā Psalm 90:12
Intentionality doesnāt mean doing more, it means doing what matters better.
3. Set Simple, Soul-Filling Goals
Big goals are great, but letās not forget the beauty of small ones. What do you want your home to feel like? What rhythms do you want in place by Christmas? What kind of mom, wife, and friend do you want to be on an average Tuesday?
Here are some ideas for simple H2 goals:
Start your day 15 minutes earlier for coffee + Bible reading (yes, in peace šš¼)
Schedule one intentional date night per month
Implement a Sunday reset routine for the week ahead
One night a week: no screens, just connection

4. Choose Rest Without Guilt
Can I say this gently? You donāt have to do it all. We are allowed to rest. In fact, weāre called to it. Whether itās a nap, a quiet moment with your journal, or an early bedtime while the laundry piles up (again), rest is holy.
āCome to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.ā ā Matthew 11:28
Letās be women who run hard and rest well ā who know when to say yes and when to say āno, not this season.ā

5. Laugh More, Judge Less, and Stay Grateful
This life is too short to take everything so seriously. Laugh when the dinner burns. Dance in the kitchen. Hug your people a little longer. Say āIām sorryā faster. Keep a running list of what you’re grateful for in your notes app or journal.
Hereās mine this week:
Forrest Frank music on full blast
A hard-working husband who still makes me laugh
Grandparents spoiling my kids (and giving me a break š )
Coffee. Always coffee.

A Midyear Prayer for Us All
Lord, thank You for walking with us through every single day ā the good ones and the hard ones. Help us to pause, reflect, and realign our hearts with Yours. Give us wisdom as we set new goals. Let us be women of intention, rooted in gratitude, rich in laughter, and anchored in Your truth. Amen.
So hereās to the next half of 2025:
Letās go into it with eyes wide open. With hearts full. With grace for the mess. With goals that stretch us. And with hands unclenched ā ready to receive all that God has for us.
Iām cheering you on, mama. Weāre in this together. š
