Remember You’re Loved: Why God’s Love is the Joy Your Heart Needs Today

Let me just start by saying this: You are so loved.

I came across a devotional, and it stopped me in my tracks. You know when something just sinks in deep? The kind of truth that feels like a hug to your soul? Psalm 106:7 was quoted, and what stood out most to me was this simple reminder: God doesn’t say “Remember the laws”… He says, “Remember you’re loved.”

Wow.

How often do we forget that? I know I do. I get caught up in the to-do lists, the mom guilt, the messy kitchen, the rushed bedtime prayers. I get focused on being good and doing right and checking all the boxes. But then I read words like these, and it’s like God gently puts His hand on my shoulder and says, “Kari, remember you’re loved.”

Because here’s the truth: when we forget that God loves us, we leave space in our hearts for things that don’t belong. Fear. Shame. Striving. Rebellion. We wander, just like the Israelites did. We try to muscle through our days instead of resting in His grace.

That’s why we need the reminder. Every day.

Even if the words feel repetitive.
Even if it’s the same gospel truth you’ve heard a thousand times.
Even if you feel like you should know it by now.

We still need to hear it: He loves us. Right now. As we are. Not because of what we’ve done or haven’t done, but simply because that’s who He is.

He loves you despite you. (Phew. I needed that.)

Reading His Word daily isn’t about checking a spiritual box—it’s about reshaping our hearts. Realigning our thoughts. Remembering the One who doesn’t forget us. And He is where the joy is.

So today, friend, let this be your reminder:
You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to earn it.
You’re already loved.

And in case you’re wondering if you’re the only one who needs that reminder—you’re not. I’m right there with you.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” – Psalm 106:1

Let’s rest in that love today. Let’s teach it to our kids. Let’s whisper it to our hearts when we feel like we’re not enough.

You are deeply, wildly, completely loved.
And that… that’s where the joy is.

I challenge/encourage you to read Psalm 106-107, those chapters were the inspiration to this post!
