It’s been a hot minute since I did a FRIDAY FAVORITES… I am excited to share some of my favorites from the last month.
Reading the Gospels
I wrapped up the gospels this week in my Bible Recap reading plan. This isn’t the first time I have read about the crucifixion. I knew it was coming. Every time I read it, I want it to be different. I always want everyone to just figure it out. I want them to see Jesus as the son of God. I want them to believe all his teachings and want a relationship with him rather than the laws. I want Judas to not sell Jesus into the hands of the guards. I want Jesus to be treated like the King He is.
But that doesn’t happen. The cross was the plan before creation. None of the disbelief, hypocrisy, or self-righteousness surprised Jesus. Jesus knew the goal, the mission. He was the perfect sacrifice, so we could be the scapegoat. Without the cross, there is no eternity, no hope, no purpose. I don’t want to live in fear of the world. My hope is in Jesus. He has already won.
Have you ever read the gospels? If you haven’t, I highly encourage you to do so. The four books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) tell about Jesus’ time on earth, from their own unique POVs.
Surprise!
My father-in-law and my sister-in-law worked so hard to throw my mother-in-law a surprise 70th birthday party. It was so much fun to see so many people celebrating DeDe. My favorite part was watching her three grandsons open the door for every guest welcoming them to DeDe’s party.
Basketball
We are playing SOOOO much basketball right now. Each kid is thriving on their teams. Benny has started school ball. He is loving it. He has great coaches and is becoming a big time leader on the court. It is really cool to see him step up and be a great teammate.
Baker played in an MAYB tourney and his team won! It was so fun to watch his team compete and beat some pretty solid teams. Baker playing sports is always a favorite of mine. Baker plays HARD, he is a great teammate, and he is willing to do what his team needs.
Madley is back on the hardwood. She is loving it and getting astronomically better with every practice and game. I am coaching and falling in love with the girls that have been placed on the team. They are like little sponges, I LOVE IT.
Baby Sonogram
We had our first baby appointment in January. The first sonogram is always a bit nerve-wreacking. By the grace of God, the sonogram looked perfect. They looked all over and confirmed only one baby. We go back next week for another ultrasound. Please continue praying for a healthy baby and healthy mama. Whenever nerves or anxiety creep into my thoughts, I remind myself that God is forming this baby in my womb. The baby is God’s blessing and His baby. I just need to be still and know that He is God.
Blast from the Past
At one of Benny’s games, I noticed some familiar faces sitting in the bleachers across from us. Coach Tammy and Coach Kim were there watching their great nephew play. Tammy and Kim were my basketball coaches from age 8-12. I was relieved when they recognized/remembered me… they were so fun to catch up with and encouraged me to keep coaching Madley’s basketball team.
That wraps up Friday Favorites. This week has been so amazing. Sharing the news of Baby Miller #4 has been so fun.
Have a great weekend. Love ya!
