Things I Fall Back On: Faith, Marriage, and Health During Life’s Busy Seasons

This weekend we “fell back.” We set our clocks, gained an hour, and maybe—just maybe—got a few extra minutes of sleep.

But as I thought about falling back, I couldn’t help but think about the things in my life that I truly fall back on. The things that ground me, steady me, and remind me who I am when life feels fast, uncertain, or exhausting.

🌿 I Fall Back on My Faith

Above all else, I fall back on my faith.
Staying rooted in God’s Word is what steadies my heart when the world feels chaotic. In good times and in hard times, I know Jesus has already won. That truth is my anchor.

When I spend time in prayer or dive into Scripture, I can feel my perspective shift from fear to peace, from striving to surrender. My faith reminds me that I don’t have to hold it all together—because God already does.

💍 I Fall Back on My Marriage

The second thing I fall back on is my marriage.
Martin is my rock on this earth. He is patient, steady, and the ultimate provider. He makes me feel safe, whole, and equipped to be both a wife and a mother.

There are moments when his love reminds me so deeply of Jesus’ love—constant, sacrificial, and full of grace. When life gets heavy, Martin’s quiet strength and faith-centered leadership always bring me back to what matters most.

I thank God daily for the gift of our marriage and the way it continues to teach me what real love looks like in action.

🏋️‍♀️ I Fall Back on My Health

And finally, I fall back on my health.
When I feel off—mentally, emotionally, or spiritually—I know it’s time to get back to the basics. I clean up my diet, get outside for a walk, and hit the weights.

Those small, consistent choices add up. They help me feel strong, centered, and more like myself again. My health journey has always been about more than fitness—it’s about honoring the body God gave me and using it to live fully present.

As we all “fall back” this weekend, maybe it’s a reminder to slow down.
To fall back into the arms of Jesus.
To fall back into gratitude for the people who love us.
To fall back into habits that bring peace and strength.

Because when the world shifts, it’s those steady things that hold us together.
