Today is another Random Things post. These are fun to write. These days, I don’t really have a clear message or direction I want to go in, so I just share some random things about life right now. It can get a little random, but hang with me.
Today is my MIL’s birthday!
I know many of you might have in-laws that are stereotypical in-laws. I am sorry about that. I don’t have that. My in-laws are the best. They are so generous. They are just there. Every game, every birthday, every school event. They show up. They are happy to babysit, they spoil us with gifts and meals. And my Mother-in-law is a huge reason for that! She never had a daughter, so it is so special to see her with Madley! Their relationship is super special. Happy Birthday, DeDe! We love you!!
Mourning the End of Football
I love watching football. I am so sad that football is just about done for the season. Only two more weekends of NFL games left. GO CHIEFS! Sundays just won’t be the same until September.
Plant Lady Wanna Be
I have recently been buying eucalyptus from Trader Joes. I love all the extra green in my house. So now I am thinking I need some more house plants.
Pink Nails
I got my nails done yesterday, and I went with HOT pink. It is a favorite of mine. Every time I get this color, I am so happy! It is almost February and our new niece is set to make her appearance anytime in the next 2-3 weeks! So we are in our pink era until further notice!
Busy Week In Progress
This is going to be one of those weeks, in a good way. Monday was no school, so that leads to lots of extra time together. We also have the National Championship game to watch. Tuesday is basketball practice after school and Dede’s birthday. Thursday is my sister-in-law’s birthday, basketball practice for Madley, and Baker and Madley have their school music program that night. I am sure Benny will have basketball practice at some point during the week too. So many fun things!
YASSO Treats
I have become obsessed with YASSO frozen yogurt treats. Oh my goodness. They are so good and don’t ruin my macros at the end of the day when I want a sweet treat. If you haven’t tried them before, I highly recommend them! My favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough.

I Started taking Creatine
I recently started taking creatine. I mix it into my daily Liquid IV drink. I read up on women taking creatine and I was blown away by the research. It was overwhelmingly positive. Here is a link to one article from the National Library of Medicine. I also copied the article into ChatGPT and asked it to give me bullet points of the key applications, here is what it gave me.
