Day in the Life: September 17, 2024

Well- it’s another day in the life post here on Kari Miller Blog. Last week I documented September 17th. It was a Tuesday and I didn’t work on this Tuesday. I thought you might think it was interesting to see how I spend my days off. I hear the 5:00am alarm going off…. Time to Rise and Shine!

Alarm goes off, I get up!

Our snuggle buggle joined us overnight (per usual). Also, I was NOT sleeping in the middle, I was sleeping in that tiny spot between Madley and my nightstand. Any other moms relate?! I am not complaining, I actually love sleep snuggling.

First things first- Garage workout! Today was LEG day.

This was a tough workout. Here are the Apple Watch stats.

After the workout, I made myself a black coffee and got in my comfy chair and did my bible study. Today was Day 178 of The Bible Recap. I read 1 Kings 17-19. It was incredible! One of my favorite stories of the prophet Elijah. If you are unfamiliar- you gotta read it.

I can see myself in Elijah- I can be so full of faith, absolute confidence in what the Lord has done, is doing, and will do. And then the next minute, be so unsure about who I am and scared about the future. This story shows that God doesn’t give up on Elijah and He won’t give up on us either. THANK GOD!

During my quiet time, I had cinnamon rolls baking.

Then the mad dash to get Benny to middle school by 7:35 began. No pictures were taken, just too busy!

After dropping off Benny, we have about an hour before the littles have to be at school.

We did hair, ate a snack (eye roll), played with our neighbor besties, then they came over and watched Bluey for a few minutes, we brushed teeth, I put some laundry away and prepped their backpacks, and then we headed to the car for school drop off.

Silly Girl in the car rider line.

Ruby takes school drop off very seriously.

Once Ruby and I got back home, we went on a 2 mile walk before it got too hot.

We found fall on our walk.

After the walk I cleaned up breakfast, finished laundry, and then sat down for some blog work.

I worked on the blog for about an hour. I listened to a podcast.

Then it was time for lunch! I am always so excited for lunch because I am about a week into Intermittent Fasting. Today I made a big helping of oatmeal! With a side of Friends.

After lunch I got cleaned up, put some makeup on, made a big water bottle with Liquid IV, and headed to Target. One of my loves needed some new underwear… like yesterday. So mom to the rescue!

Also found a super cute jaguar print oversized cardigan. All Jaguar stuff for the next 11 years!!

After my outing, I sat down and did a little more blog writing and had a snack.

Today was my nail day, so I then jetted for my 2:00 nail appointment. But before I went to my salon, I stopped by Central Park to lay down some blankets for NEWSPRING IN THE PARK that was tonight!!

I went with shorter nails and…. BLACK! I’ve never had black nails before. They are pretty fabulous.

After nails, I headed straight to the middle school to pick up Benny.

Benny and I worked on some homework together, ate a snack, and just enjoyed the peace before….

Madley and Baker got home!

This is the other MAD RUSH of the day. We snacked like we haven’t eaten in days, refilled water bottles, packed more snacks, Martin came home, we tried to pick up the house a bit, and then raced to the car for….

We visited the food trucks, did all the family activities, and then the concert started! Here are some pictures from the night.

When thousands of people come together and worship together, it is life-giving, inspiring, humbling, connecting, and overwhelming in the best way. We are not alone in this world. God is working. The world is crumbling- that is easy to see, but God is not. His people are not. God is still Lord, still in control, and still fulfilling His promises.

So thankful for Newspring Church for such an incredible night of community and worship. WOW!

We fought traffic and made it home. Got the kids to bed and then quickly got ourselves into bed. It was a day, a great day. Thanks for following along, blog friends.

Love you all.
