Miller Family Snapshot: Hall of Fame Weekend

Today I am giving you a snapshot into our weekend in Manhattan. My soul feels so refreshed in a way that is so unique after this weekend. You see, my college coach, Coach P was inducted into the Kansas State Athletics Hall of Fame. It is a big deal. She is a big deal.

On Friday, we picked up the kids from school and headed straight to Manhattan to the Hall of Fame Ceremony. The Miller family has never looked so fancy!

It was incredible to hear all the inductee’s speeches. To be in a room with so many impressive people was inspiring. Here are a few pictures of the evening.

The next day we spent all day just hanging out together. Kimberly made us all homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast, we then went to Aggieville. THERE WAS SO MUCH PURPLE. Gameday is so fun in Manhattan.

Then it was time for our tailgate, more just sitting around, laughing, sharing stories, and just feeling so grateful for this family that we are all a part of. The Kansas State women’s basketball family. The kids got to visit the men’s basketball tailgate and then shoot around in the practice facility. They even found the lilac corvette. IYKYK.

We got totally spoiled and had tickets at the performance table suite. Not a bad view and it had AC!

At halftime, Coach P got recognized. The kids and I got to go with her on the field. Oh my… all three of my kids were floating. They felt so special. Feeling the love for Coach P meant so much to me. I feel so blessed that she was my coach.

It’s too bad we don’t like her very much. 🙂

Check out the Jacob Pullen autograph!

The woman spent every second I got to share with her to tell me how proud she was of me. How beautiful my kids were and how I am so lucky to have Martin and I need to keep him. She loved me first because of what I could do with a basketball, but she spent so much time in my four years to get to know me. I remember after one practice I stayed late to get some shots up and Coach P noticed and stayed to rebound for me. During that time, she listened to me as I cried about missing my sister and my nieces and nephews. My sister’s marriage was experiencing infidelity and I felt helpless. Coach P rebounded/ listened for probably an hour. You see, she was a basketball genius, but she was an incredible woman of God.

I love you, Coach P! I am so proud of YOU.

What an incredible weekend! I hope y’all enjoyed a little snapshot into our Hall of Fame Weekend. And the only way to end this post is with a big….. GO CATS!
