Today is a good day- My older sissy is the featured spotlight this month on Kari Miller Blog. To be completely honest, I am unsure there would be a Kari Miller Blog without my sister’s example in my life.
If you personally know Trisha, you have been in the presence of joy and kindness. Her testimony is more powerful than she would admit. Life, at times, has been unfair to my sister. If anyone had an excuse to be bitter and angry- she has a couple. However, her faith in God and His plans is real. She isn’t fake, she lives her faith. Her joy is contagious.
My sister is beautiful, always has been. She has the world’s greatest hair. She is an incredible cook/baker. She loves to have fun. She makes life memorable for her family and her students- reminds me so much of my mom. I am trying to play catch up to them both in that area. She loves her kids and listens to their needs better than most moms. She is Aunt Trishy, who my kids adore! She is the only person that can go months without seeing my kids- and there is ZERO warm up time. They love Trishy and feel “home” with her.
She has always been a role model to me and the greatest friend. I know this spotlight will be such a blessing to you all. I am so excited to share my sissy with you.
Enjoy!
I’ve known Kari since she was born. I am blessed to be her older sister. She has brought so much joy to my life in all stages but I am especially proud of the mom she has become. I adore her three kids and love that they call me Trishy. She and Martin really have built the most precious family.
I have three amazing kids plus a bonus daughter. Jerry has shown me how a man should love a woman…I can’t even count the number of times that he has cleaned the house and had dinner ready when I got home from teaching all day. He also makes me laugh every single day. Jerry also puts up with being in a house of all girls…all the hair (clogged drains…ew), messy bathrooms, etc. My son, Weston is 23, and lives in Oklahoma, Karli is 20 and lives in Dallas with her friends, and Jovie is 16. My bonus daughter, Gabby, is 13. Being a mom is the hardest but best job.
God has definitely refined me through trials throughout my adult life. When my marriage ended due to infidelity, I was left caring for three young kids. Never did I think my life would have ended up that way. God worked within me and I discovered that my joy came from myself and my relationship with Christ. It isn’t realistic to place your joy in earthly things…we as humans fail, but God never fails. I continue to build my faith through scripture and prayer each day.
*This is Jovie Faith, named for JOY & FAITH*
My biggest pet peeve is when someone replies “cool” to a text I sent. Put some effort into it!
Seinfeld, Schitt’s Creek, guilty pleasure…Love is Blind
Galatians 6:9 (NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
This Bible verse is special to me because in the many trials I have been through, when things seem to never go your way and your heart is broken, it reminds me to always do good, always love, and always treat others with kindness… even if that kindness was not extended to you. I am thankful that one day I will reap a harvest in heaven with Jesus.
It’s not so current but this is my all time favorite: So Will I (1 Billion X) by Hillsong United
Every single lyric is beautiful.
Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte with whipped cream (can’t be too skinny)
Kind, joyful, and caring
With family in the mountains of Colorado
Loved every single answer! If you know Trish- how much does Galatians 6:9 fit her?! It was like that verse was written about Trisha Kincaid.
Thank you, Trishy, for being so willing and open. Kari Miller Blog is better because of it.
Love you so much!
I will see you all tomorrow for another TGIF!
