Top Ten: Olympic Moments 2024

The 2024 Olympics are over. The Olympics were on all day/night at the Miller house. The USA athletes were absolutely incredible, so proud to be an American! I felt like they represented the USA so well and with so much class.

Today I am going to list out my TOP 10 favorite Olympic moments from the 2024 games! I’d love for you to read them over and let me know if I missed some of your top moments.

Here we go…

The USA Women’s Soccer Team winning gold. I am not sure I have ever followed a soccer team in my life. But this year’s USWNT had me planning my days around their games. They were so fun to watch. They were such a force, I was so proud of their talent, grit, and chemistry. Also, their kits were so fire!

The USA Men’s basketball gold medal game against France. Wow- it was a fantastic basketball game. The best players in the world, all on th same team, working as a unit, being unselfish, and representing our country with pride. It was so fun to watch. LeBron is almost 40- that just blows my mind. And Steph just took over the last 5 minutes, he had me standing and screaming. So fun.

USA Today

The Australian BreakDancer- makes me LOL every time I watch the clips. She was not quite on the same level as her fellow competitors, but she gave it her all. I’ll be honest- she did 1000x better than I could ever do. Her dancing makes me want all the events in the Olympics to have an “average joe” participating too, that way we can compare and fully realize what these athletes are doing is super human.

The USA Men’s Gymnastics Team Final- The final rotation on the pommel horse. It all came down to Clark Kent Stephen Nedoroscik. When he took his glasses off and then killed his routine to secure bronze- totally EPIC!

You know what was next- The USA Women’s gymnastics team winning GOLD in the team final! These women were absolutely incredible. They dominated, looked beautiful in their amazing leotards, and showed everyone that muscles are gorgeous on women! Plus- any time you can watch the greatest of all time do their sport, you are lucky. I felt lucky whenever Simone was on my screen.

French Swimmer Leon Marchard was a highlight for me. He was incredible and watching him swim on his home soil was so cool.

AP News

Three Words- Sydney. McLaughlin. Levrone. This woman is incredible. Her speed is world record breaking. She is in a class of her own. And Sydney takes the biggest stage as an opportunity to praise God and share about Jesus. WOW.

NBC News

Mondo Duplantis, the Sweden pole vaulter, was another favorite Olympian of mine. NBC did a fun background segment on him. His story and his family were so fun to hear about. Talk about doing exactly what you are supposed to do- Mondo was made to pole vault.

ABC

The USA women’s 4×400 team had to be in my top 10! These four women were BOOKING IT! Also, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone ran a 47.71 split. Are you kidding me?! Also, Gabby Thomas won 3 gold medals. Absolutely legendary.

The final Olympic moment I will remember is the men’s and women’s 100m finals. The men’s race was the closest race I have ever witnessed. It reminded me of this Seinfeld standup bit.

And I was so happy for Julia Alfred of St. Lucia to win the 100. I also was so happy for Sha’Carri Richardson winning silver.
