Bennett is 12 years old today!
How is this even possible?!
He is the real deal, y’all! He has been the sweetest kid since day 1. He is innately a better person than I am. He is selfless, joyful, hopeful, confident, and easy-going.
When I come across a bible verse that reminds me of someone in my life, I make sure to write their name down next to it. Here is one that I wrote Benny on…
I don’t know about you, but if someone had my name written in their bible by this verse… I would be doing a whole lot of things God’s way.
Every parent teacher conference, since he was in kindergarten, brings me to tears. The kind words his teachers say about him floors me. Martin and I are beyond blessed that Benny is our first born, our sibling leader, and our son.
Both Baker and Madley adore and trust Bennett. Bennett is Madley’s safe spot. If mom and dad aren’t home for bedtime, Benny fills in and does the snuggling. Baker is welcome in all of Benny’s dugouts and benches. He lets Baker “hang around” without a gripe.
He works so hard at school. Despite being dyslexic, he keeps up with his peers, excels in all his courses, and LOVES learning.
The attributes that Philippians 4:8 mentions- Benny has those in spades.
I often find myself thinking about my kids as adults, about who they would marry. For Bennett’s future wife, she just may be the luckiest woman in the entire world.
So… happy birthday Bennett! You are so fun and easy to celebrate. I love being your mom. I am so proud of you.
Enjoy a few pics of Benny’s first 12 years, he’s always been pretty dang cute.
12 years went by in a wink. Going to savor every second with this kid. He is growing up.
Thanks for reading the blog today! Have a blessed weekend! I will be back on Monday.
