Today’s Motivational Monday is about how to KISS our faith! As an avid Office fan, I want to quote Dwight quoting Michael. “K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid.”
Let’s KISS our faith journey. God’s love and mercy are free. We can’t earn our salvation. And we can’t lose it once we have it. This is a very hard concept for many people. We struggle to keep things simple.
Some religions think you have to wear certain clothes, eat/drink certain things, or pray exact prayers. Apostle Paul tells us you just have to call on the name of Jesus. You have to just trust in Him, believe in Him, and you will be saved.
I think in our faith, we have a tendency to complicate things. We think we need to be perfect, never making mistakes or sinning. That just isn’t ever going to happen, and we know it. So, we think “what’s the point?” “Screw it, I am just going to do it my way.”
I read a verse in Romans that simplified things for me.
All you have to do is call on the name of the Lord. YOU WILL BE SAVED! Keep it simple, stupid! Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe God raised Him from the tomb? Those are both BIG YES’ for me. Then, I am saved! Simple as that!
Paul never says I have to be perfect, do particular rituals, wear specific clothes, or say the magic prayer. We said to just call on His name.
Now- let’s be confident that we are saved. Let’s have that confidence to help others understand how simple salvation is.
People have to HEAR the good news to receive it. They need to hear the good news from people like you and me.
Let’s take the weight that we are carrying off our shoulders to be perfect. The shame and guilt have to go. Know that God has taken those burdens from us the moment we accepted Jesus for who the bible says He is. We need to K.I.S.S. and not pick that weight back up.
Let’s share with others how simple it really is. What an absolute GIFT salvation is.
Let’s look at our feet- are yours beautiful?
Sending you all love- see you tomorrow in blog land!
