How have I not known this verse until this week? That is what I love about reading the bible, you are constantly learning and uncovering more of God’s truth and promises. Maybe I heard this voice back in my youth, when I never had times of trouble or seen loved ones go through times of trouble.Â
A few things I took from this verse…
The author of Nahum is unknown, but many believe it was Jeremiah that wrote it. Jeremiah is not a prophet I would have wanted to be. He had to speak God’s messages to people who didn’t like truth. He also had so many other “prophets” who “prophesied” what Israel wanted to hear, not God’s truth. So Jeremiah’s words were also lost in other peoples’ lies.Â
This reminds me of social media in a way. There are so many “influencers” that are not showing you the facts, being 100% real. We get frustrated and feel inadequate because we don’t and can’t live up to to that standard. Be careful what you let your mind and eyes consume, be sure you know truth. Be sure you know who you are to God. He is good. He is your refuge. He cares for you! WOW!
