Birthday month continues today… Happy Birthday, Madley!!
My girl is 7! In the bible, seven is a number that symbolizes perfection. And I couldn’t agree more today. The most perfect addition to our family is 7 years old today! I am not sure how this happened, but I can honestly say, Madley is the brightest light.
Today I am going to be sharing 10 random things about our favorite girl! Then I will have a photo dump at the end! If you missed Baker’s post about turning 9, you can read that here!
Ten Random Things about Madley!
Madley looks exactly like her daddy. It is wild stuff. Her face is Martin’s. Physically, you wouldn’t pick her to be mine. Personality wise, you can tell she is my daughter.
Twins.
Madley is an amazing artist. She is impressive with her drawing abilities. She also has beautiful handwriting. My mom is very much this way, too. Madley does practice a lot, but I think genetics plays a role too. It skipped me, though.
As a first grade teacher, this note taking was very impressive. Kudos to her amazing teachers!
Madley is a professional little sister. Her second home is a baseball diamond or a sideline of some sort. She never complains about going. She is always content at the games. She plays with the other sisters, she eats the snacks, she plays in the dirt, she keeps herself entertained.
Madley has fallen in love with fishing. Shoutout to her big brothers and her cousin, Ty, for teaching her how and making her feel welcome. She is just one of the boys fishing now.
Madley has the most beautiful eyes. Her dad was voted “best eyes” in high school. She has that superlative award in the bag already! In case you were wondering, I was voted most athletic. Still proud of that one! Maybe Baker will win that one. Benny will get voted sweetest or kindest.
She is a goofball. This is where she really proves she is my daughter. She is also the third child, like I was. We have the luxury of being silly, bringing laughter to the family. And she can do that!
Madley loves to organize, think Monica from Friends. Madley got really upset with me a few days ago because I wouldn’t let her empty the fridge to clean it and then organize the fridge contents. Um, huh? Her clothes are hung up by colors. She likes to roll her pants in organized rows in her drawer. Her dream would be to organize the pantry, but I just haven’t been granted that much patience from the Holy Spirit yet.
Madley is an independent, highly motivated lady. After having two boys, we are shocked about how much Madley can do and get done compared to her brothers. She has zero time to be lazy. If there is a job to be done, she’s got it. She leaves her brothers in the dust in this area. Homework? Done in five minutes. Chores to be done? She’s done with hers and asking for more. Her brothers are complaining of school lunch? Madley whips them up a lunch that includes each food group, plus a note.
Madley loves her grandmas! I mentioned earlier that Madley got my mom’s artistic ability. And that is true! But Madley is also so much like my mother-in-law. Madley is so good at putting things together to make them aesthetically pleasing. It may be an outfit, a bouquet of flowers, decorating her bedding. Everything great about Madley is probably something she learned or inherited from her grandmas. She has a very special relationship with them both. How lucky is Madley? She sees both her grandmas all the time and both women are just phenomenal role models. I guess I’m lucky too!
Madley loves making life magical. She loves when we host family and friends. She loves being a good hostess! She also loves holidays. She wants to put up the decor, play the music, bake the cookies, and dance the dances. She loves life. I think Madley might be the magic in all our magical moments in our house. She brings the sparkle. Her light and joy are such a gift to the world.
Just a fun bonus for everyone! Madley has gotten so close with Zoey the last three years. These cousins are going to be best friends for life. Zoey is such a great role model for Madley, and now Madley can do the same for her new baby cousin, Adah. Zoey and Madley have such a sweet relationship, filled with tiktok dances, photo booth faces, giggles, and art.
We sure love our girl! If you see her today, wish her a happy birthday!
Enjoy a Madley photo dump!
She has always been the most beautiful thing to us, inside and out! She’s easy to celebrate!
