What’s Up Wednesday: August 2024

What’s up blog readers? You are about to find out. It is the last Wednesday of the month which means only one thing… What’s Up Wednesday! I team up with a bunch of other bloggers and tell you what’s up in my life.

Buckle Up, Buttercup. This is a fun one!

I mentioned in my TGIF post from last week that I am loving Brandon Lake’s new single, “That’s Who I Praise.” It is a banger and so catchy! Give it a listen!

The Miller family is headed to Manhattan! My college coach, Coach P, is being inducted into Kansas State’s Athletic Hall of Fame. So we are heading up to see the ceremony and then see her get recognized at the football game on Saturday. I am so excited. I haven’t seen Coach P in over a decade. Can’t wait to squeeze her. Also, it will be a mini-reunion of former women’s basketball players. It is going to be so fun and good for my soul! And everytime my boys get a glimpse of who their mom used to be on the basketball court, I get major cool points!

This is a tough one! My personal favorite from August was my Spotlight post about my sister! But the blog posts that generated the most views was my Let’s Look: What’s in Our Pantry and Kids’ Bedroom Swap.

We didn’t go crazy on Amazon this month. Here are a few highlights…

Fishing Pliers

BOHO curtains

Zipper Binder for middle school

Fall Blog Posts! Last fall, I didn’t blog at all. So I am so ready to plan out my fall blog posts. I have lots of fun ideas. Do you have any suggestions for blog posts? What would you like to read about? Let me know in the comments or email me!

I am starting to get my feet wet with this part time schedule. I can see routines starting to form and areas of that routine that I would like to tweak. So I will continue to find a good little routine on the days that I am home.

This month saw the end of David as King. Now his son, Solomon has taken the throne. Solomon asks God for wisdom and boy does he get it! I am now in the middle of the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is the book where Soloman shares all of the wisdom that God has given him.

Reading Proverbs always feels like a pep talk and cheat code for life. As a former athlete, I enjoy being coached and challenged to be better. The book of Proverbs is like that for me. I always find something I can apply to my life or an area that I can improve in my life.

Sad news- My Brooks Ghost Max walking shoes turned on me. The hard lining on the inside of the shoe became unglued and was super annoying and painful at times. I went into Dicks (where I purchased them from) and they let me do an exchange for a new pair. YAY! Sadly, they no longer had my size in those shoes, so I had to pivot. I went back to my tried and true old friend, the Hoka Clifton 9s. My niece got these beautiful white/gray ones and I copied her. I love them.

FALL is knocking!! I love the ‘ber months and making so many memories with my family.

Next week is the finale of The Bachelorette. I am pleasantly surprised about how much I have enjoyed watching this season. It is sad that the season is coming to an end, but I do plan on watching the first season ever of the Golden Bachelorette.

Also, Martin and I are still watching Big Bang Theory prior to bed almost every night. It will take us a few months to get through all those episodes.

Lots of fun events coming up in September! Flag football and Fall Baseball will be in full swing (pun intended) for Baker. Some highlights we are excited about is Newspring in the Park on September 17 and Greater Andover Days at the end of September. And like every September, we love celebrating Martin’s birthday.

That is a wrap on this month’s What’s Up Wednesday! I hope what you are up to is something awesome and fulfilling.

See you tomorrow, blog friends!
