What’s Up Wednesday: April 2025

What’s up? As crazy as this sounds, it really is the last day/Wednesday in April. Where did April go? WOW- fastest month this year so far. I couldn’t let April slip away without a What’s Up Wednesday post. These are always a big hit and I love writing them!

Baseball, yard work, blogging, studying for middle school tests, and just soaking up all spring has to offer!

This time next month, I will be on the beach!!

Also, I did a pull up! I don’t know if I have EVER been able to do a pullup! My college teammates can attest to that. But I did it! My weight training program and creatine have been gamechangers!

Martin and I have started Parks & Rec as our pre-bed show. I’ve watched it a couple times through, but this is Martin’s first time watching it. Dare I say… he loves is. He LOLs every single night.

I am currently reading Iron Flame. I am about 7 chapters in and struggling a bit. I know it will speed up soon. I’ll stick with it.

Podcasts, Forrest Frank music, and Iron Flame audiobook.

With the warmer weather, I am back to my normal summer workout wardrobe. You can check out this post I did last summer for all the deets!

The weekend should be a fun one! We are off this weekend from baseball tournaments, so I decided we should have Madley’s birthday party! She is so excited for her “SPA THEMED” birthday party.

Next month is MAY. Heck, tomorrow is May!  How did that happen? May is a great month. All the school activities, baseball continues, the weather gets warmer and warmer, and you start planning that summer schedule! Two days after the kids finish school, we are taking a big family trip to Seaside! We are going to the same spot as last summer. You can read about it here! It is going to be amazing!

I didn’t purchase too many Amazon things this month, such a bummer! But I did share some Amazing Amazon finds, check those out here if you missed it last week.

I also wrote a post on my TOP 10 Amazon Finds you might like. And now that I am thinking about it, I have written several posts about Amazon. You can find all of them here!

I am about to finish up the book of Exodus. Exodus is one book that is a page turner for me. It is so captivating. It has slavery, plagues, passovers, escape, chases, freedom, doubt, drama, manna falling from the sky, commandments, promises, and so much more. Exodus is such a perfect demonstration of God’s ways being far superior to our ways. Moses is leader, an exceptional leader. He is in hall of fame or  GOAT status, in the trusting God department. He wasn’t perfect, but is someone we could learn so much from.

God delivers the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery. God is present with them in the wilderness. God sends bread from the sky so they can eat. God provides. Yet, the Israelites find ways to be bitter, worried, scared, and ungrateful. God is so patient with them, but I can’t help but think He was also heartbroken.

How often do we do this in our own lives? We become blind to good things right in front of us. We fix our ways on everything that is wrong, we tell ourselves that the grass IS greener somewhere else.

I challenge you today to take time to remember what God has seen you through. The blessings that are in your life every single day that you haven’t spent a second thinking about, let alone thanking God for. Let’s take that time to thank him. Every second you spend in gratitude is one less second you spend thinking about how bad things are or have been. I honestly think it could change your life.

And read the book of Exodus. Find a reading plan on the bible app of your choice and give it a go.

Thanks for reading! Come back tomorrow for a fun May Day post.
