Wellness Wednesday: Finding Joy

Today I will be sharing a few ways that I find joy in my life. These are just silly, little things, but they truly are so important to me and my happiness. Maybe after reading this, you can start to recognize and appreciate the silly, little things in your life that spark joy.

My Morning Routine

I love starting my day, each day, with my morning routine. It is a time of peace and comfort for me. You can read about my morning routine here

I sit right there every morning and do a 30 minute bible study/ prayer journal.
Gotta have the latte!

Walks

I love walks. I love walking by myself with a podcast. I love walking with Martin and chatting. I love walking with the kids. I love getting outside and moving. I try to get 10,000 or more steps a day. Walks calm me and bring me so much joy.

Wordle

I love doing the NYT Wordle each day. My co-workers and I have a group chat where we share our wordle scores for the day. It is a fun way to stay connected over the summer. Here is a screenshot of one of my better days. 🙂

Lists

I love a good list: grocery lists, to-do lists, packing lists, practice/game schedules. Lists help ground my brain to stay focused and organized! Here is a random list I found in my notebook, last Thursday’s to-do list.

Look ahead

I enjoy briefly leaving the now and looking a month or two ahead. For example, in July I like to take a morning to roam the aisles of Hobby Lobby to look at all the fall decor. I take pictures and notes of things that I would like to try. I also go to pinterest and start looking at mantle decor or Halloween costumes. Looking ahead gives me peace about life continually moving so fast and excitement of what is to come.

I also like to fill my calendar with all the sporting events coming up. Ones that are for my kids, my neices/nephews, our high school team, and our favorite professional team. It feels so nice to have all the events in one spot. I am more likely to plan fun event outings when I know when all my teams play!

Those are just a few was that I find joy in my everyday life. Come back tomorrow for another TOP 10 post!
