Wednesday wellness: A Week of Workouts

Today I am going to be sharing what a week of workouts looks like for me. For context…We are officially into February and combating all the sick bugs, I am working full time, and basketball for all three kids fills most of our free time. With that, here is my week in workouts. Enjoy!

Monday (1/29/24)-

On Monday I woke up at 5am and did a Sydney Cummings Workout, today was a 45 minute Lower Body Sculpt.

The weather has definitely felt more like spring, I know it won’t last but I am going to enjoy it fully this week! On this day, I took Ruby on an extra long walk at lunch (1.86 miles to be exact). I didn’t plan to do this. I got home for lunch to find that our cleaner had gotten a late start and was going to be in my house cleaning for my entire lunch break. So, I decided to just walk in the neighborhood instead. I ate my lunch on the car ride back to work.

I also went on a short afternoon walk with my work besties to stretch our legs and take a break from staring at a screen. Unfortunately, my apple watch died around 1:00 on this day. This has been randomly happening to my watch, I have no idea why. I charge it every night, some days it lasts all day and others it dies shortly after lunch.

Tuesday (1/30/24)

Wake up call was 5am, like always. Today’s morning workout was another Sydney Cummings workout. It was Day #4 of her BREAKTHROUGH program, 40 minute Toned Upper Body Workout.

This day was one of the most beautiful days. It was mid 60’s at the end of January. What?! A gorgeous, God-giving day like that had to be spent outside. So I took my whole lunch break to walk Ruby, then my co-workers and I went for an afternoon walk for our break. At the end of the work day, I raced home to take Ruby for another .5 mile walk before the kids got home!

So in total I walked a total of 2.86 miles on Monday. It was a VERY active day for me.

Total Minutes of Exercise: 112

Step Count: 14,979

Wednesday (1/31/24)

Wake up at 5 am for Day #5 of Sydney Cummings’ BREAKTHROUGH program. Today was a 46 minute Full Body HIIT Workout.

Today, I had students in the building all day, so I was unable to run home for lunch. Instead, my work besties and I took a short 10 minute walk for a stretch break.

Total Minutes of Exercise: 67

Step Count: 13,569

Thursday (2/1/24)

Today was the day of walks! AKA the weather is still G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S.

I changed things up on this day. The morning temps were in the 50’s. MIND BLOWING! Instead of a Sydney workout, I took Ruby for a 30 minute walk. The whole walk felt and smelt like Spring. Please tell me I am not the only one who can smell spring!

Lunch time brought a 20 min. walk and then I took another 20 min. walk for my work break.

Outdoor Walks= Shot of Joy 🙂

Total Minutes of Exercise: 90

Step Count: 12,890

Friday (2/2/24)

Another 5am wake up call, another Sydney workout. Day #6 was a Full Body Strong and Sweaty AMRAP. This was one of my favorite workouts, highly recommend.

I took three long walks on this day, so it was another super active day and another spring-like day in February. Did I not say earlier I was going to soak in all this spring weather?

Lunch was 1.09 miles, afternoon break was another 1 mile walk, and then I decided to walk with two of my besties to pick up the kids from school as walkers instead of carrider. So that added another 2 miles of walking.

At the end of these kinds of days, I am so overwhelmed with gratitude. Grateful for my sweet neighborhood, my town, and my healthy body.

Total Minutes of Exercise: 122 min.

Total Steps: 15,149

Saturday (2/3/24)

Okay- the weekends are different level of a beast. Monday- Friday are so routine for me, as I am sure you could tell. The weekends are where I struggle a bit. I haven’t found a great weekend routine that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Most weekends I run around like crazy and then lay around like crazy. So I always feel like I accomplished nothing and got exhausted doing it.

I did let myself sleep in until 5:30 today. WOW- I know. 😉 I did Day #7 of SC’s BREAKTHROUGH program, Cardio and Abs Bodyweight Workout. After the workout I kissed my hubby and Benny bye as they headed to a basketball tournament. I wouldn’t see them until 4:00 that afternoon.

After two basketball games for Baker and Madley, I found myself at home with Baker and my nephew, Ty, with a few hours to kill. Madley went to play at DeDe’s house. So I got to take Ruby for a 30 minute walk until we had to head to Benny’s championship basketball game.

Another good day.

Total Minutes of Exercise: 81

Step Count: 12,883

Sunday (2/4/24)

Sunday was REST day! No workouts, no walks. But who am I kidding? I folded and put up 5 loads of laundry.

Total Minutes of Exercise: 9

Step Count: 8,496

Well- there you have it! My week in workouts from January 29-February 4! This is what I would call a typical week if the weather is nice. I hope this inspires you to add a little more movement in your day and be grateful for what a privilege it is to do so.
