TEN KEYS TO A FANTASTIC FALL

We are just a handful of days away from September. September, in my mind, is the start of fall. The weather doesn’t always cooperate, but I am going to press forward and embrace the fall season!

Today I want to share TEN KEYS TO A FANTASTIC FALL! I had way too much fun coming up with this list. I am well aware that most of you reading could have come up with this exact list, but when you love fall, you will love this fall list regardless!

Let’s get to it!

Seasonal Books- I love finding a book for me that is set in the fall. It makes reading a book in the fall even more cozy and relaxing. I also like busting out fall books for the kids. During September and October, I have all the apple and Halloween books out to read.

Wallflowers- Every September, I plug in an apple scented wallflower. I then set an alarm in my phone for October 1st. That is when the pumpkin scent goes in! I always stock up on these scents when they go on sale in the summer.

Fall/Halloween Throws- In September I bust out our fall blankets! A couple years ago, I took the kids to Home Goods and they all got to pick out a fall blanket. They love that they have “decorations” in their rooms in the fall. I love a good autumn bed! I also got a fall blanket for my quiet time chair.

Mark Your Calendars- Fall months can fill up very quickly with activities. I like to front load these calendars as much as possible. I always look up our High School football schedule, K-State’s, and the Chiefs. I put all those in the calendar too. I also try and make sure I find a couple times to do some fun fall activities that don’t revolve around a sports game/practice. Putting everything on the calendar helps me do that.

Music- In the fall I switch up my music a little. I will still listen to worship music, but when I am working or blogging I like background music. In the fall I like to switch to artists like Frank Sinatra, Steve Tyrell, Michael Buble, etc.

Soaps & Hand Towels- I love a good fall scented soap from September-November(ish). I also hang up some fun Halloween hand towels in the powder bath and kids’ bathrooms. It’s the little things, y’all.

Start Early- Don’t let yourself worry too much about starting “fall” too early. If you love fall, then get with it. Decorate early, walk around Hobby Lobby or Home Goods. If seeing fall stuff makes you feel warm and happy, then I think you should embrace it. I plan on decorating the house the first weekend of September. Yes- that may seem way too early, but I love it and so do my kids.

Flannel Sheets- If you’ve never tried flannel sheets, now is the time. They are amazing and all we use. I promise they are not hot sheets. They are just super comfy and soft. Fall is a perfect time to bust out the flannel sheets. Maybe throw a fall pillow on the bed while you are at it!

Fall Colors- Completely inundate your life with fall by utilizing fall colors in your life. Paint your nails a beautiful fall color, use fall colored pens, wear the fall colored claw clips. You get the idea.

Walks- The weather change is the greatest part of fall, in my opinion. Make time to enjoy it with walks, solo walks, family walks, or my favorite… walks with just my hubby. Enjoy the changing foliage, think about your blessings, thank God as you walk for seeing you through another season.

Well, there you have it. Kari’s TEN KEYS TO A FANTASTIC FALL. I hope this list inspires you to welcome in the new season.

Thanks for spending part of your day here on the blog!
