There is always something to be worried about. Natural disasters, illnesses, political leaders, finances, racial injustice, violence, our kids, jobs are just the tip of the worry iceberg. But many (almost all) of these things are out of our control.
We can’t control what happens to us or around us… BUT WE CAN CHOOSE OUR RESPONSE TO THESE THINGS.
We can constantly be worried about these things. Living in fear, feeling anxious or even bitter. We can choose this as our response. Like a vulture searching for dead, rotting things, we can find what we are looking for. However, this is not the only option.
Like a bee that searches for flowers, we too can search for beauty and sweetness. We can be known for seeing the good in others, choosing to be grateful first, being kind and patient.
Light and Darkness both exist. Good and Evil are both in the world. There is plenty of scary things in our world, but because of Jesus- there is ALWAYS good.
Jesus is the LIGHT of the world. Jesus put the sin and darkness of the world on his back and took it to the cross. We don’t have to carry that load. Jesus already showed us how to live in the light, we just need to follow his example. If you are a Christian, the Holy Spirit is tugging your heart in the direction it needs to go.
Fight anxious thoughts with hope. We can fight fear with life giving words. We can take any darkness that comes into our thoughts into the light. Ask God for help- that instant. Remember He is with you always!
My Prayer
Dear Lord,
When darkness seems to surround me, please wrap my anxious and worried mind with your light. Remind me that you are with me. Help me encourage those around me to rely on you, to look for the good. Thank you for your example and your light.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for coming to the blog today- Go find the good- if you do, you’ll find it!
