Putting myself out there is not something I do, however it IS something I dream about doing. I feel, inside of me, is a person trying to express her faith, passions, desires. But instead they stay inside and my head replaces those dreams with thoughts of doubt and insecurities…
“No one will want to hear about my life.”
“No one struggles with these thoughts.”
“How embarrassing would it be if I shared this and no one cared or understood me.”
“Everyone else has this area of their life ‘so together,’ they will never relate.”
“How am I qualified to share these motivational thoughts?”
“I don’t know anything, I am such a hot mess. God can use someone who is more ready.”
“I can put myself out there when everything is just right, now is not the time.”
It was hard to put those thoughts down on paper. I have held these thoughts in my mind and heart for too long. I am stepping out in faith, definitely not on my own power, and putting myself out there. Here goes nothing…
“We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.”
2 Corinthians 3: 4-5
My dream is to start a blog, share my faith and life with other women. I feel called to be a light in this world that seems to be growing darker and darker. I know God has placed me in this world at this time for a specific purpose. I hope, with the Holy Spirit guiding me, to see this blog grow and be a blessing to others.
Many of my doubts that I typed up above, I have come to find are very factual. “I” am not qualified to start a blog, “I” don’t know much of anything (ask my kids), “I” am not ready. These are true, but of course you know where I am going with this…
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
So this blog, this Monday Motivation on insecurities isn’t me preaching to the choir. It is me humbly stepping out of my comfort zone and relying on my faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to do the talking for me.
I hope being faithful and courageous inspires you in some way to do the same. Please spread your light and the good news. You were made for a time just like this, do what only you can do. Step into God’s will for your life. I will continue to do the same.
My Prayer
Dear Lord, I am leaning on you and your word. I am trusting in your promises. Lord, quiet my insecurities, open and shut doors in my life according to your will. Lord, use my corner of the blog world to shine your light. Protect my heart from fears and doubts. Please put women in my life that encourage me and make me feel safe. And when I don’t feel safe, keep me close and remind me that I am never alone and your Holy Spirit surrounds me. Amen.
Next Steps:
- Write down any insecurities you have with pen and paper.
- Pray specifically over each insecurity- that God relieves you of these insecurities.
- Replace each insecurity with a positive action step. If they aren’t replaced, they will just keep filling that space in your head.
- Read, meditate, and journal over these verses (one verse/day).
