Basketball season has officially ended for the Miller family. It was a wonderful season, filled with so much growth.
Madley
Madley finished her second season playing. She continues to love it. She got so much more aggressive and had lots of success because of it.
Her defense is stifling. It is so fun to watch her take pride in not letting the other team score. The highlight of the season was when she was promised by Uncle Austin that she’d get a lollipop for every basket she made in a particular game. She went out and got 5 buckets. The next game she tried asking for kittens.
Baker
Here is a link of a great Baker basketball play!
Watching Baker play any sport is maybe my favorite pastime. He is just a competitor. He is unselfish, very coachable, and finds his confidence on the field/court. He is a leader and never wants to be out worked. This kid is going places and I will be cheering/coaching him up along the way.
So many highlights for Baker, but he did have a last second half court shot that I didn’t see (at Madley’s game) and no one filmed for me… He also made a left handed layup that he was pretty pumped about. His team also went undefeated and improved so much. Coach Loy is awesome with the boys and they actually started to play some real basketball.
Benny
Talk about a kid with some upside. Benny has yet to realize how good he can be. He shows us glimpses and spurts. I am excited to see what he does in this sport for the future. Every season he builds more confidence and knowledge about the game.
Benny is a very cerebral player. He understands the game so well. He is very unselfish and coachable. His team has grown so much this year. They are coached so well. Coach Casey really understands basketball and truly gets the best out of his boys. He is quick to teach, quick to reprimand, but so quick to build them up. The Irish team is an answered prayer when I decided to no longer coach Benny and his basketball team.
And that is a wrap on basketball. We love you, basketball! See you next year.
