Baseball Season 2024 is officially over. It is very bittersweet.
Bitter because the boys love the sport, their teammates and coaches. I love all the families I get to cheer with and spend so much time with. We seriously have so much fun, lots of giggles, and just a TINY bit of flirting with hollering at umps. IYKYK.
Sweet because we now have a life that doesn’t revolve around a game schedule. We can swim more and start taking vacations. Also, it is getting very HOT.
BAKER
This was Baker’s first year playing more competitive baseball. It went well. His team showed so much growth. Baker played mostly first base. He did get a few reps at catcher and fell in love with it.
He hit some bombs, fought through a little hitting slump, but came out of it hotter than ever. So proud of his resilience and confidence in himself.
BENNY
What a year for the RedSox! They doubled their wins from last season. They dominated their league games and were very competitive in their tournaments, winning one of them!
Benny also struggled through a hitting slump, but put in extra batting practice. He finished his last six at bats 4 for 6. So proud of him!
Benny also plays mostly first base. He is a very reliable infielder and very cerebral. He has learned so much about baseball and situational concepts. He is confident on the field and I love that. He also took a huge step in pitching this year. He threw harder and more accurate. He rarely walked batters and let his defense work. So proud of him!
Before I wrap this up, I can’t express how grateful we are to the men who volunteered their time to coach Baker and Benny this year. Coaches are so important and influential. We are so blessed that our boys have such great examples and leaders coaching them.
Until March… We will miss you, baseball!
