Today I want to share my HOLIDAY GOALS with the world. If you share your goals with others, they are more likely to happen… right?!
Every season, I like to take a moment and come up with some goals to work towards. The holidays are no different. I will be sharing SIX goals that I have set for myself over this holiday season.
At the end of this post- I will give an update on how I did with my fall goals.
Let’s jump in!
SLOW DOWN- Be Intentional
I want to be very intentional with the precious holiday time. I don’t want to overbook my family or waste time on my phone or doing tasks that are not important. I also want to be more intentional about planning big memory making events for my family. This will require some planning ahead- not always my strong suit.
FULL ON FESTIVE
Life is too short and the year is too long to not totally embrace the holiday. I want my car to sound like Christmas carols, I want Christmas movies playing in the background at my house. I want to wear all the fun shirts. I want to stop and look at the lights. I want to make the holidays magical for my family.
Get Shopping Done Early
I have my lists, I want all the items purchased, shipped, and wrapped EARLY. I don’t want to be all over town the last two weeks before Christmas trying to find gifts. I want to have that all checked off, so I can slow down and enjoy the season. My goal is to be DONE shopping by the end of November…
Plan a Trip for 2025
This one may sound weird, but I feel like Martin and I have some more time together during the holidays. The extra time gives us the opportunity to map out a vacation or two for the next year.
Prioritize Health
I want to go into 2025 with healthy habits already in place. So many years, I go into a new year trying to get back on track. This year, I want to continue the healthy habits I already have and maybe habit stack one or two more to put my in a great routine for 2025.
Jesus is the Reason for the Season
I want my family to NEVER forget what the Christmas season is all about. Gifts and Santa are so fun, but the reason we celebrate is because Christmas represents the day our Savior was born as man. It was a big deal then, and it is just a big of deal now.
Now I want to share my fall goals report card. I accomplished so many of my goals, but if I am being really honest… the fall seemed to slip away very quickly. Time just came and gone in a way that I don’t remember. I need to do a better job prioritizing my time and resources, hince my #1 goal for the holiday season!
Here we go…
🚫- I did one bike ride… that was my only “different” workout. Yikes.
✅- I honestly took the drawer and dumped EVERYTHING in the trash. It was LIBERATING!
🚫- I am no longer putting books on my goals. It just doesn’t happen.
🚫- I did one newsletter over the last two months. Then my free trial ended for the program I was using. I am not quite ready to commit to it financially.
✅- I still have some posts to load into pinterest, but so many can be found here!
✅- I rarely go to bed without doing the Before Bed Challenge.
🚫- I HATE the hold that social media can have on me at times. I am going to bring this to the Lord- please also pray for God to release this bad habit. I am okay with the content I am seeing. It is positive content, the reason I want to limit the consumption is the TIME WASTED. I need to find other ways to rest.
✅- I have established a routine! I may share this in a blog post sometime.
✅- The one weekend we had ZERO things on the calendar was spent doing just this! It was a huge weight off our shoulders.
✅- I have been much better at finding the right times to go to the store/clicklist.
60% success rate, not great. I am going to choose to focus on the growth. Every success and every failure can make us learn and grow. I am blessed to see another season.
Thanks for hanging with me on this long post. I hope you are encouraged to write down a few goals you have set for yourself this holiday season. Every day is a gift that we don’t want to waste.
