It is Tuesday… and it is Tasty!
Today my sister is taking over the blog again, you’ll remember that I did a SPOTLIGHT post on her awhile back. If you missed that, you can check that out right here!
My sister is incredible at so many things, but she has always been a superb baker! So I told her to whip something up and share it with me! She chose her homemade cinnamon rolls!! She has been making these for years and they are sensational!
I was so happy she chose cinnamon rolls! I thought y’all might be looking for a yummy recipe like this for when you have company over for the holidays! BONUS- you can make the dough the night before too!
Let’s get to it!!
Trishy’s Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
Sweet Dough
1 Box of Hot Roll Mix
3 tbsp sugar
1 cup hot water
2 tbsp butter (softened)
1 egg (room temp)
Filling
1 stick of butter (softened)
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
3 tbsp cinnamon
Frosting (double if your family loves frosting)
¼ cup butter (softened)
3 oz. cream cheese (softened)
1 ½ cup confectioners sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
⅛ tsp salt
Directions
You can prepare rolls the night before and cover & let rise in the fridge overnight.
Dough
Simply follow the directions on the Hot Roll Mix Box.
Filling
Spread a stick of softened butter onto the rolled out dough.
Mix together 1 cup packed brown sugar and 3 Tbs. ground cinnamon.
Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over the butter/dough.
Assembly
Roll dough up on the long side and use plain dental floss to cut the dough into 12 rolls.
Place rolls into a buttered pan and cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm area for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden.
Frosting
Combine all the ingredients and beat until fluffy.
Spread onto warm rolls.
You can just tell these things taste incredible! I love how my sister broke it down- she made it seem very simple. Be sure to note this blog post for your next brunch event, baby/wedding shower, or maybe even chili night! These are home runs every single time!
Thanks, Trishy, for your help with this one. You’re the best!!
