75 Hard challenge: week 2

75 Hard Challenge- Week 2

 

Hello! I am two weeks into the 75 Hard Challenge. Here is a quick reminder of the 5 daily tasks that I must do every single day, for 75 days straight.

 

1. Drink a Gallon of water/day.

2. Read 10 pages of a self improvement book.

3. Follow a diet of your choosing.

4. Workout 2x/day. (one has to be outdoors)

5. Take a daily progress picture.

 

Here is a quick recap of how it is going…

 

Diet I Chose: I decided to record everything I ate into MyFitnessPal, and come in caloric deficit every day. I am also not really trying to lose weight, just get stronger.

Day 14: January 14

Book: TOTALLY FORGOT TO READ- But I did read my bible study, so I am counting that!

Diet: Diet was recorded, but I went into calorie surplus. Olive Garden leftovers got me…

This week has gone well, but the weather has been a challenge. Winter has slapped Kansas in the face this week. We got our first snow day of the school year on Tuesday. Shoveling the driveway took 47 minutes, so that kept me warm for my outdoor workout. Frigid temperatures wrapped up this week, so dangerous that school will most likely be canceled again next week. I attempted an outdoor walk on day 12. I did one loop and I thought my eyeballs were actually starting to freeze. The windchill was below 0! So I made the decision to finish my walk in the garage on the treadmill. I understand, this may be cheating or not allowed. But like I said in the beginning, I was going to hold these rules with an open hand if needed. I feel good with my decision, and I am going to keep plugging along. Unfortunately, the temperatures for the next few days are getting colder, so more garage walks are in the future. 

 

Surprise Findings:

  1. The book I am reading is an e-book, and I am finding less and less desire to read it. I can’t wait to wrap up this book and start a new book that is an actual hard copy.

  2. Giving up facebook and instagram has been very easy. The only hard part has been not watching my two nieces play volleyball via facebook live. The fact that this is the only thing I have felt bummed about when cutting out social media tells me that this may be the only GOOD thing about social media.
