3 Things on Thursday: Healthiest Habits

Another Thursday means another THREE THINGS ON THURSDAY. Every Thursday in February, I am sharing three random things about different topics. I have shared 3 Things I Do Everyday and 3 Life Hacks that I Use.

Today, I am sharing 3 Healthy Habits I have.

I recently started reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. It got me thinking about habits that I have. I love days that are productive and predictable. The only way to have those days is with habits. So I brainstormed what I thought were my three healthiest habits.

Quiet Time Routine

I shared over the summer my quiet time routine. Not much has changed from that routine. I think it is the very best way to start my day. I will say that I am experimenting with doing my quiet time PRIOR to my morning workout. I started taking some pre-workout. I drink that and let it kick in while I do my quiet time routine. I am really enjoying it so far.

Church Every Sunday

Church is a priority in our family. I think it is so important to find a home church that works for your family. Your kids need to grow in their faith. They need to learn about Jesus. I think people in ministry are called by the Holy Spirit to share Jesus with us, young and old. The only way they can do that is if we show up. I know we are all so busy, weekends are precious time. Your child’s heart and eternal life is more precious. Also, if your child “hates” church, ask friends where they go, go at the same time so they have a buddy, be consistent in going, and be willing to try churches out to find the best fit.

 Gratitude Before Attitude

This skill is from practice. I don’t claim to be perfect, but I do think this is something that I am good at. Life sucks sometimes. Annoying things happen, injustice occurs, and curveballs can come at us out of nowhere. When I am reacting to these events, I always lean on gratitude first. If you remember how blessed you are FIRST, the annoying speed bumps don’t seem so bad. If you remind yourself that you trust God and He is in control, you are more likely to roll with the punches. If you believe God works all things for the good of those who love him, you don’t sweat little things that seem like barriers or roadblocks.

That wraps up my THREE THINGS ON THURSDAY. I love that my three healthiest habits are centered around Jesus, makes sense.

Love y’all! Have a great day!
